Even if you have never fished before, an Eastbourne fishing trip will be an experience which you will remember for a very long time. It also offers an excellent corporate day out for your group or staff, or clients.

We provide great wreck and ground fishing trips which last 8 hours and longer, depending on the time of year. You can expect to catch Cod, Pollack, Bass, Ling as well as Conger Eels which can weigh in at over 100 lbs - check our
fishing calendar.

If you are contemplating your next Eastbourne fishing trip and want to have a chat with us first, ring our skipper on 07966 377145 or email him. Dave will be happy to provide tips and advise and will also take care of any specific requirements you may have.

Wreck Fishing

Another Ocean Warrior photo

Wreck fishing starts the end of January / beginning of February for the first run of the big Pollock, followed by the big Cod!

Wreck fishing is a skill which takes years of practice to get the anglers over the boat every time

The art of wreck fishing on the drift over off the Newhaven wrecks aboard Ocean Warrior 3, is using shads and sidewinder lures, along with red gills using an 8ft trace, a 20lb to 30lb class rod with 30lb line and 25lb leader. Fish can be caught in front of or on top and even down tide of the wreckage, especially when the tide is running hard. I find that when I fish the wrecks off the south coast, the Cod like the smaller tides as they are lazy swimming fish. Whereas, the Pollock like a hard run of tide as they are harder fighting fish and can prove to be great sport on the light gear. We find that the Cod are around 10 to 25 turns off the bottom and Pollock are 20 to 45 turns off the bottom, depending on the strength of the tide. This sort of fishing is known as 'Gilling' and it is a very successful and enjoyable way of wreck fishing, especially for the less experienced angler.

Fishing for Turbot - Ocean Warrior 3

Another Ocean Warrior photo

By David Elliott

Fishing for Turbot on Ocean Warrior 3 on the deep water sand banks for Brill and Turbot. This can be a nice relaxing days fishing on the drift. This year we have had some nice Turbot showing already. Gary from Brighton had good day fishing for Turbot with his mates and caught some nice fish. The bait we use while fishing for Turbot is fresh Mackerel. We catch the Mackerel during our fishing for Turbot trip when we are travelling out. Sand eels also work well at this time of year.
